"In between goals is a thing called life that has to be lived and enjoyed."
This is why the quote seemed so profound. Yes goals are good, yes its great to complete them. But, if all my time and energy goes toward those goals, what happens in between? Am I unhappy until another goal is reached? I'm learning it's really important to enjoy this in between time, because, guess what? Its my life!
So, just to fill everyone in, we are in the middle of buying a house. Yes! Fun goal right? It's a little scary and overwhelming, and maybe I have a phobia of change which should be the subject of another post, but overall, we are excited!
Of course, its all still in the works, and may never happen at all, but our bid is accepted and we are working on paperwork at the moment. Closing is set for Nov 22nd, but we have to move out of our apartment Nov 14th. :S Hoping to close early!! Otherwise, back to the parents house we go! Haha.
The house was a repossession and is currently owned by Fannie Mae, its a little older and needs some TLC...there is no stove, refrigerator, or washer and dryer. And, the previous owners basically took every single light switch (33 to be exact) with them when they left. But nothing a little hard work, money, and paint can't solve! ;) The worst problem is the slope of the yard and the fact that it causes water to collect by the house. The basement is only concrete, so not damaged or rotting but it is a little damp. But, luckily since my dad's a civil engineer, we know just how to fix this problem! :) Yay for smart dads!
I am learning a lot of new vocabulary: swale and fascia come to mind at the moment.
So, I'll keep you guys updated. Hopefully no sad news! There will be lots of excitement I'm sure, so stay tuned. And enjoy that thing called life! :)
